| Thanks for the Effort once again Guys. Ofcourse it would be nice to have had it all fixed and running properly, ...but if Your lives have been anything like mine of late, then one Must understand there is Only So much time !! I must say though,..I Can't wait to get out of these Concrete Jungles and into the Wide open Spaces of some Real Tracks !!,.. There are some really Great Tracks in the US and Canada,..But like Here in Aus', there are also some stupidly small, Narrow and to be Honest, like the Canberra Street race they had for the V8 Supercars some years back,..arguably Inappropriate for the Type of car and competition. To be Honest, I Am somewhat Amazed at the choice/selection of Tracks the IMSA series was obviously run on. I had No idea it Visited tracks like Trois Riviere West Palm beach, This Place etc, etc Must admit though, that Whilst Very Short, LimeRock, in a similar fashion to Our 'Lakeside' in Queensland, it is Extremely Fast and a Fun Circuit ! I have always liked Road America and even though I am Not Very Good at it, Road Atlanta as well, I have always found Mid Ohio to be like Racing On Ice in these cars!,..Like they Have almost No Lateral Grip,...(well atleast with My Setups Anyway !!,..lol) I LOVE Watkins Glen and is On My List as One of the Tracks I really Would like to Visit and Drive around,..Like Spa !!,..lol There's Something About those Old World Tracks eh?,..Like Bathurst ,..amongst others,..lol Anyway,..thanks again and Hopefully see you all Again, Next Week, Same Time,..Same Channel,.. Strangely,..Maxwell Smart started, on the TV Just after I disconnected,..ROFL,..somehow,..seems somewhat 'Apt',..ROFL,.. Cone of Silence and Everything !!!,..

| Oh Yes,..It IS challenging to find a Good Line and a Good setup on these Tracks,..I have just Never really Been a Fan of the Street or Semi Street style of circuit. My Favourite Track is Possibly the Old Osterreichring !!,..and Obviously,..I LOVE the Older Hockenheim !!,..lol I guess I just Like the Older more Natural Faster. open and flowing circuits instead of the 90, straight, 90, straight, 90 etc etc, kind of circuit,..Perhaps Long Beach manages to get away with it,..But Surfers Paradise ??,..Give Me a Break !!,..If it Didn't Make SO Much Money, No one Would Race there,..The Carnage is Ridiculous !!! BUT, as Most of the Race Going Fans at That event Aren't particularly Hardened Race Fans,..the 'Event' as such,..Works,..or Did !! We have Lost some Great circuits over time in Australia, Warwick Farm is Gone 'For Good', there is a Block of Units built where the Hairpin at the end of the Long Back straight used to be,..Sigh,..I can Still Recall seeing Jochen Rindt Powersliding His High Winged Lotus through there 'ONE Handed,.. in the WET !!! The Older Original Surfers Paradise was also a Fairly challenging Track that is Now 'Obliterated' by Housing Developments. Sad Really,..and with People Like Hermann Tilke designing circuits,..there Isn't Much Hope for the Future !!!,..ROFL | |

| I feel really sorry about this mess-up guys, hopefully it won't happen again. Thanks for your trust and hope you'll stick around, next week same time, just next door, staying in Florida As for race tracks, I share the same tastes as you Stu, but I still love to drive a silly urban track as long as it is historically accurate A wee bit of masochism there I guess, but you know what I mean, hardcore racing prevails | |

| Hi Frank,..Yes,..it Was a Great circuit at which I saw Many Races,..Not Only Tasman series. I was quite Lucky as a Young child, as whilst My Father did Not Really care for motor racing, a Good War Time friend of His was a Complete Fanatic,..like Myself,..Except, as he was a Pilot that Flew from England and lived there for a while, He somehow, got to Know All those Great Names, a few Quite Well,..Like Graham Hill, whom I suspect he had many a Hard drinking session with, (from the Way they carried on together!!,..lol),..He had connections with Alec Mildren and Alfa and was friends with people like Frank Gardner etc. So,..even though we usually Watched the Races from the Spectator areas, We Always went to the Pits afterwards and over the Years, I was Lucky to have met people like Graham Hill. When they moved into F5000, there were people Like Tedi Pillette, and everyone's Favourite, Piers Courage. Matich was Always a Very Nice person, as was Old Black Jack and Bruce McLaren, Unlike Graham Hill, who I am sure just saw me as Just Another Young Kid, some of the Others seemed to Take the Time to atleast Feign Interest or atleast appreciate your Own !!,..lol I did get to see Jimmy Clark and Stewart Race when I was very Young but went with dad so never met them. At one stage I fixed Swimming Pools and actually Worked on and had a Great 'Yarn' with Jack, to the Point where he thought it Best he Left me to get on with My Work,..on His Pool when he lived in Sylania Waters,..Many Years ago,..an Honestly Lovely individual Old Jack. Strangely,..I Never go to Races these days, I don't Have an Incurable Passion for Our V8 Supercars and all the Media Hype that Goes with it and in fact I even find F1 Lacks More than just a little something these days. Interesting that guys like Barnard and Murray 'Lost Interest' as the Rules became Ever More Restrictive. I guess I take More of the 'Unfair Advantage' rule and concept of Mark Donohue and the Rule Less Concept and Racing that series like CanAm used to Provide I am sure Milt Jnr Will Also Agree !! Cheers | |
