Grille de départ

1 Sebastian Vettel (GER) Red Bull 1:23.919
2 Mark Webber (AUS) Red Bull +00.116
3 Fernando Alonso (ESP) Ferrari +00.192
4 Jenson Button (ENG) McLaren +00.756
5 Felipe Massa (BRA) Ferrari +00.918
6 Nico Rosberg (GER) Mercedes +00.965
7 Michael Schumacher (GER) Mercedes +01.008
8 Rubens Barrichello (BRA) Williams +01.298
9 Robert Kubica (POL) Renault +01.453
10 Adrian Sutil (GER) Force India +02.117
11 Lewis Hamilton (ENG) McLaren +01.265
12 Sebastien Buemi (SUI) Toro Rosso +01.719
13 Vitantonio Liuzzi (ITA) Force India +01.824
14 Pedro de la Rosa (ESP) Sauber +01.828
15 Nico Hülkenberg (GER) Williams +01.829
16 Kamui Kobayashi (JPN) Sauber +01.858
17 Jaime Alguersuari (ESP) Toro Rosso +02.170
18 Vitaly Petrov (RUS) Renault +02.552
19 Heikki Kovalainen (FIN) Lotus +04.878
20 Jarno Trulli (ITA) Lotus +05.192
21 Timo Glock (GER) Virgin +05.673
22 Lucas Di Grassi (BRA) Virgin +06.266
23 Bruno Senna (BRA) Hispania +06.607
24 Karun Chandhok (IND) Hispania +06.694

that on board looks great...when you see that speed thru the corners, acceleration and even braking power )he nearly don´t have fingers fast enough to downshift fast enough GP d'Australie 2010 Icon_biggrin )....it looks like it is virual not real GP d'Australie 2010 Icon_cool

...but this is not atractive for me when I realize that this cars are simply not made for racing...these cars are for time trials...now when I look on some race in TV it is only about lap times...and commentators are very excited when someone is 0.5sec faster then some other driver...bud do we really want this? Don´t we want overtaking, driver mistakes, real champions who win because it is tought to drive these beasts but he know it (in fact that cars are easier to drive then lower category open wheels)?

I am sorry...but last few year I am really disapointed about highest motorracing level... GP d'Australie 2010 Icon_cry

I couldn't agree more Smile . Real racing is dead and will never come back. Only historic racing gives a glimpse of what it used to be... and HSO of course helps you travel back in time too :D .

"only" one from row of reasons why I am here...I never race in league where organisation was on same or higher level - I admire all admins here, great work! Great series here including GPL and GTP...this season I am only in F1 79, but GPL and GTP are very near to my heart GP d'Australie 2010 296107 and of course drivers here...gentlemans, I am NOT in stress when I am near other car on track because I know that drivers behave very well here...in fact I am more affraid of myself then other drivers GP d'Australie 2010 Lol

That Renault is the hottest car I've seen during the last years. Livery is awesome Smile I just wish it was able to overtake some cars or was able to be overtaken lol

I believe there is a chance of rain tomorrow and if that would be the case race should be interesting. Otherwise, you can happily stay in your warm beds instead of watching the famous train ride.

F1 is crap nowadays yes, no more a driver thing, just a geeky engineers challenge. But at least those new regulations show to everybody there is a big problem with the cars. It has been the case for about 10 years now, but nobody wanted to see it because teams were using pitstops to overtake and everybody thought thats because they dont want to take any risks on track. But that's wrong, drivers will always be racers, if they say they can't overtake, that's true, and there is something completly wrong in the sport.

I really wonder how somebody who doesn't know F1 could become a fan of this sport today, ugly cars, stupid tracks in stupid venues, no racing at all ...

But there are still some pretty cool racing series nowadays, GP2, Indycar, V8 Supercars, ALMS was awesome 2-3 years ago, i'm a big fan of Superbike too, it never fails to provide good racing Smile I don't agree with the poor old Frank, racing isn't dead :langue:

The main problem with the F1's is that they're too much aerodynamic dependent, and they really should ban the carbon brakes...

I really do hope they include the Portimão track one day. That track really kicks ass :top:

Portimao indeed is a great track, much like Istanbul Park. Le Mans Series were fun last year @ Portimao.

Yes nice layout with lots of elevation changes, but way too much run off areas to make it a challenging track imo.

11 Jaime Alguersuari (ESP) Toro Rosso + 1:11.301 58
12 Pedro de la Rosa (ESP) Sauber + 1:14.084 58
13 Heikki Kovalainen (FIN) Lotus à 2 tours 56
14 Karun Chandhok (IND) Hispania à 5 tours 53
15 Timo Glock (GER) Virgin à 17 tours (DNF) 41
16 Lucas Di Grassi (BRA) Virgin à 32 tours (DNF) 26

23 Kamui Kobayashi (JPN) Sauber à 58 tours (DNF) 0
24 Jarno Trulli (ITA) Lotus à 58 tours (DNS) 0

The rain had just the effect to cancel the rule that drivers have to take soft and hard tires in the same race. Mix that with a track that always produces good races and you have a good F1 race.
Boredom should be back at Sepang unless it rains again.

Untill yesterday, I largely agreed with all the comments here above. The soul had largely gone out of F1 for some years. I think the last season I more or less enjoyed was 1998 or 1999. Somewhere thereabout.

Yesterday however, was one hell of a race. Just sorry to see that McLaren pulled in Lewis. If they hadn't done so, I think Kubi and Lewis would have been at it for many more laps ... And that was one of the best battles I have seen for quiet some time.

The train behind Massa was also not too dull to watch.

Great race... really enjoyed this one. And way better than Bahrein. And there will be other dull races this season ... but good ones also. I remember watching some races in the early 80's on the parking lot of a casino ... not particularly thrilling neither. And then again, the term "mickey mouse-track" has been invented no later than 1967 ... A mixture of dull and thrilling races is something of all times ... The problem in F1 was that the last years there were almost no thrilling races left. I think that the fact that they have to manage an entire fuel load now may change that.

Timo
