Subject: Many GPL sites down Thu 6 Apr 2023 - 21:38
Hi guys,
long time no see.
Seems a lot of the sites with resources for GPL have gone down lately: Simracing Mirror Zone, GPL Rank, GPL Track database, etc.
I'm looking for the Killarney track for GPL but, with all the aforementioned down, fail to find it anywhere. Could anyone here who has the track upload it to Google Docs or We Transfer or a similar site? Or do you know of still accessible sites with GPL resources?
Conversely, I have a lot of GPL tracks and other add-ons stored on an external hard drive, so if I can help anyone with uploading a track or other add-on that I have, that would be my pleasure.
Thanks in advance,
Kr,
Timo

The stuff I've had on my hard drive can be found here http://classicmotorsporthub.org:200/GRAND%20PRIX%20LEGENDS/
It's definitely only a small snapshot but it may have something one may be looking for.

Pas de soucis mon ami.
I'm doing pretty well, just a lot of real life stuff canibalising my sim time.
Hope all is well with you also.
Cheers,

Hi guys,
Quick question on GPL internals.
Someone (Greiss or Gleiss I think) made an addon for Irridux’ historical 65-carset with the two Centro Sud BRM’s driven by Bianchi and Gregory at the 65 Spa GP.
I could relocate a download of said addon and downloaded it. My download however misses the driv65.ini file. Not too much worries there. I can easily edit an existing driv65.ini file that I have on my install. Just one question though. To make sure that Bianchi and Greg drive BRM’s, I just copy the team number that is in the driver section of Hill and Stewart. But how do I get them in the right BRM? Is that through the value in car number or in the number defining their place within the BRM-team? And can I find the right number somehow?
Anyone any ideas, or is this just gonna be the good old trial and error approach?
Thanks in advance guys,
Timo

My guess is the car number is the key here, as depending on which number an online server assigns to you when you join you will, for instance, get the works Eagle or the McLaren skinned Eagle with the 1967 mod.
But I am no expert in GPL modding, and do not have the 1965 carset addon, so just a guess there.
Are you on Discord Timo ? The GPL channel there probably has the definitive answer to your question (and any other GPL related one you might have) https://discord.gg/YcXqsvWV

Thanks for the tips guys... and apologies for the late reply. RL is not in the mood to leave me much free time at the moment.
I found back the driv65.ini file I needed. The Centro Sud cars actually ship with the historic Spa 67-download.
Still did not quiet manage to get what I wanted. I copied the Gregory and Bianchi sections out of the Spa 67-driv65.ini into the driv65.ini I was using. (I actually wanted to add the two Centro Suds to a Syracuse-race, where they also raced in 65).
That worked well untill I edited my Syracuse driv65.ini-file to change Bianchi to Scarfiotti. At Syracuse the two Centro Sud BRM's were indeed driven by Masten Gregory (as at Spa) and by Ludovico Scarfiotti (while Bianchi raced at Spa). Once I did that, Scarfiotti was suddenly back in a standard green BRM and no longer in the red Centro Sud BRM. Gregory was still in his red car... So it seems this is even linked to the actual names of the driver. Those GPL-internals are very unpredictable indeed. Kind of like God's ways
Timo
