My old GTX 780 GPU died. On one hand I was unhappy, on the other hand I thought it was a good opportunity to build a new computer to replace my 10 years old one (i7 2600K, etc...). Unfortunately there is a very big crisis on GPUs due to a lack of production in China since December. In France, not a single new graphics card is offered for sale by the usual retailers! On Ebay or Amazon it is sometimes possible to find one at a price multiplied by 3 or more! The second hand market is not to be outdone: an old GTX 980 is sold at the normal price of a new RTX 3060... Unless I find an old graphics card compatible with my old computer, the F3 1966 seems to be over for me.

Sorry to hear, Gilles. Yes. Not a good time to shop for new parts.

You know what? I removed the fans and most of the plastic parts from the GPU, put the circuit board in a 230°C oven for 12 minutes and it works perfectly again.  
It's no miracle: the lead-free soldering systems that have been used for twenty years have weaknesses, and partially recasting and resolidifying them gives them a new lease on life.  
I'll be back!

We've decided to free up a bunch of cars due to inactivity & no-shows. We've been very lenient regarding the matter and still won't enforce a strict run-or-you're-out policy but from round 6 (Monte Carlo) on two unannounced absences in a row means you'll lose your car.

In addition to cars 4, 17 and 23, cars 6, 7, 9, 12, 14, 16, 19, 20, 25 and 32 are now up for grabs - first come, first served.
