| I always customize setups for every race and can be different if the race is 20 or 40min. And since I don't practice much, my setups are always focused on the race pace.
If anyone is interested I can give some beginner tips to create a good setup for your driving style.

| It won't do much good, hell sometimes I even change brake balance during a lap so I can attack every corner on the limit.
There is no perfect setup only the best compromise and it heavily depends on your driving style.
I can upload my setup if I'm competitive, but what can work for me could be too tricky for others. This is why I never use other people setups.

| Any help regarding damper adjustment would be most welcome. I only have a faint idea how to utilize them to cure over-/understeer etc. | |

| They control spring movement, the more you put the more resistance on spring will be applied. So when a spring is compressed or released they control how fast the car will go down and up.
I adjust them according to my springs and anit-roll bar, harder the springs the harder the dumper. With the bump setting always a little bit less then rebound. So the car will go "down" faster and won't bounce back too soon.
I suggest you first focus on spring settings, then anti-roll bar and for the last you leave dumpers.
Extensive guide: http://rfactorleague.com/files/setuphelp/setupmatrix.html#Spring%20Rate
As for under/over steer, you have 3 phases, corner entry, mid corner and corner exit. Various things affect how your car behave, so you must specify when you have a problem.

| A default setup is a good idea until you can drive at least 10 laps within 0.5 sec gap.
Only when you can drive properly you can start to setup your car. If you have no idea of your pace you don't know if you are going into the right direction setting up your car and a good drive will always improve your lap times way more then a good setup.
A perfect setup will give you about 0.5sec per lap, so if you need more pace focus on your driving style. Of course during a full race you can have 1 tire heat/wear problem and a balanced setup can give you more fast laps before this happens.

| Andrej, thanks for the link, I'm sure it'll come in handy A really good point on consistency there, no amount of setup work will help you if you're all over the place | |

| Also, if you take a corner or two badly, your tire temperatures will be completely useless to understand a good setup balance. And consider the lost time, no setup will give you that time back. | |

| Pls need any help or a set for the testrace in Suzuka with the Group C monster (Porsche) I'm a rookie with sets so maybe one of the experience drivers can help me. Thx in advance. _________________ "Never let a crash damp your enthusiasm. Heck we all have days like that !" Richard Petty
