Subject: RIP Lee Iacocca Wed 3 Jul 2019 - 18:24
Lee Iacocca has died at age 94. Lee was one of my childhood heroes; arguably the best businessman the car industry ever saw, or ever will see. He gave us the Ford Mustang, saved Chrysler from financial ruin (which, by extension, kept my dad employed and our family secure ), revolutionized family transportation with the minivan, and saw the wisdom in acquiring AMC so Chrysler could have the Jeep brand (FCA is still benefiting from this move). He starred in his own Chrysler commercials, wrote bestselling books, chaired the Statue of Liberty-Ellis Island Foundation, and even toyed with the idea of running for US President. He was by no means perfect, but he was one of the very best in the business. RIP Lee. Thank you for your contributions to automotive history.

Awh nooo... I knew he was old, but whenever some famous personality dies, it always hits hard and hurts.
The Regular Car Reviews video "The Story of Lee Iacocca" is something I always loved to listen to while doing some other things. A very impressing life he led, at Ford as well as at Chrysler.
Rest in Peace, Mr. Iacocca!

You know when you made an impression when in Italy we call a good american car a "Iacocca". Let's raise the sound of our blood red V12s to the heavens, in honour of a worthy adversary, never an enemy.

In honor of Lee Iacocca, I recommend this episode of Jay Leno's garage. Mr. Iacocca's body was not in the best shape, but his spirit was obviously as sharp as a knife back then
