grant, really fun racing with you! and very very sporting to let me get it straightened back up after being caught out by a lap car.
everyone, please, if you are trying to help a car lap you, DO NOT hit the brakes when you are still directly infront, and on the racing line. it does little to help other than causing chaos/accidents. shocking this race how many were attempting to be "helpful" but were plain dangerous.
in the end i finished it off, but it was already so badly beaten up by totally unnecessary incidents, i was struggling to keep it on the road at that point.

I made some really stupid mistakes - lapping wise, I know this track is hard to manoeuvre and find some space but it seemed sometimes just a bit too much effort in trying to get ahead safely when it really shouldn't have been
Anyway! engine gave up on me just as I caught Bos and Jundt.... also Jundt, sorry for the tap going into the chicane! Im was relieved to see you didn't spin!! Good luck guys!

First off, I think I jumped the start on Brian, who was ahead of me. Didn't intend to do that, but it happened. Only took me about 3 laps before I broadsided the wall in the kink, still contemplating where I could safely give away positions and tuck behind him. Found space after I hit the wall
I broadsided a lap car going down the corkscrew. It was Alberto I. I'm sorry for that, didn't even see you until it was too late as I came across the top of the hill.
Then, the worst offense. Yet again I found myself in the way of the shadow, with Grant driving it. After watching some of the broadcast, I see that I cut the corner a bit too deep and as I sprang back onto the track the rear just left me. Very sorry for that.
Not sure if the car was beyond driveable or repair or not, parked it out of disgust at that point.
Grants up front, and to those that managed a way through that carnage.

Solid, regular race, no mistake, no risk, I let the fastest ones pass, I double those who are a little less so (thanks to you, it was impeccable!), in short a race from someone who plays the field ! 3rd, not bad !
Very happy for David J , but also disappointed for Juha !
Sorry for you, David S, I think you have a little too many mistakes tonight !

Yep, too many mistakes. I just could not get a good feel from the car. I could be quick for one lap but the brakes were horrible, locking up all the time and causing a few spins. I guess that I should have driven the car easier braking a lot earlier.
Congratulations to David Jundt on another win, Juha for a good second place and Yves for a solid third place. Thanks Jonatan for the broadcast , I think that I'll watch it tomorrow.

In lap 17 you sent me and Mick to the pitlane for fixes in a single shot!! Probably both with broken rear axle hahahaha......amazing!! Funniest moment of the race!

Sorry about that. It was only a little tap, you guys were going really slow at that point.

I still reckon it should have been a win.
Once again outright pace wasn't my strong point so my aim was to have a stable car and wait for everyone else to drop out on this narrow track. I started fifth, got by a spinning Jundt and played the waiting game behind the two other Davids and Grant. It worked, halfway through the race I was in the lead, but Jundt wasn't far away. I managed to keep him behind me until the last lap when he got very close and I left to much space entering Turn 10. David had the outside, I tried to outbrake him for the final turn but he got a better exit and I ended up second again.
I can add this to the list of frustrating losses which includes finishing second in the Monza 1000 km by a tenth of a second and losing the German GP by half a second. Don't get me wrong, finishing second is nice, but not with half a car's length difference.
The first overall win still eludes me and this was probably the best chance I had this season because I'll be absent at Riverside, a track which suits the M8F perfectly. Guess I'll have to win a race in the Ozzy tank in New Zealand if I want to get that box ticked this year. I really enjoyed the CanAm series, I just wished I'd figured a bit sooner how they should be driven.

I had a lot of fun in this one despite had finished 2 laps behind!
This wingless car is naughty!! So hard to control!! After make adjustments I could make the rear end more kind but it would cost losing front grip. Even doing that, it was impossible to be fast with qualify trim, which means the balance in the end of the race would be critical.
Qualified in 10th, 0.01 behind Lacina. No way to qualify ahead of the winged cars.
The first lap o took my time to not have any trouble at turn 1, broke early but I think something happened ahead and I had to drive in the dirt to avoid crashing people across the street.
Soon I was behind Ryon, Whited and Lacina. I think Sabre had a spun after corkscrew and he started to catch us. I could do low 1:03s but I was stuck behind traffic and also some fights ahead were making the pace a little slower.
Sabre was all over my gear box but it is risky to overtake in this track if the guy in front doesn't do a mistake. He had a much better grip of course so he tried a once or twice to overtake me under the bridge. I wasn't braking early (based in my car performance) but I was playing fair. First attempt he almost lost the car going over the curb and almost collecting my car after all. Big moment there:cheers:
The final attempt I was overtaking Mick after the bridge, of course I lost momentum and Sabre wanted to make a "threesome" between me and Mick. It didn't work out, he slapped our butts and we aren't into it. Me and Mick got into the pit lane to fix the cars, now was a matter to try to have fun for the next 70 laps.
I still had a good pace so I kept following closely Whited and Lacina. I wouldn't overtake them because our pace was too similar and I wouldn't pull a gap probably. Slowly I started to recover some positions, just by being close to leader lap cars, some guys got blue flag and I overtook them just by being in the train.
I'm not sure about what happened to Lacina, I was following him and he had a moment in turn 1, got some dirt and went back to track crashing another car. I have to check the official replay.
I had an scary moment overtaking Steve in turn 7. I got more momentum out of corkscrew and tried to position my car in the inside line in turn 7. I didn't know there is a big BUMP/JUMP in the inside line. I had for wheels of ground, had to control the car going around the billboard!!! No wonder why the inside line is never used!!
The biggest motivation was to see a driver in the same lap ahead or behind, that's what makes racing so fun.
Congrats to the podium and finishers!!
Thank you HSO!
Super broadcast Jonatan, as usual!
See you next race!!

So looking at the points picture, we have to keep in mind dropped scores for the second half of the season. Even though Yves has a big lead as of now, the situation is not as cut and dried as it might seem...
Quote :

Points are awarded to the top ten drivers in each race according to the following chart.

At the end of the first half of the 10-race schedule, drivers are permitted to count only their four best results out of five races. The same rule will apply to the second half of the schedule, leaving eight results counting towards the championship total.

Its easy. Simply i losted control under the car. This non winged cars is very difficult to keep in proper direction under the speed. The driving over the edge of the hill on s/f straight was always risk.

Yes, good broadcast! Felt bad for the driver, but glad you caught the replay of a particular retirement caused by the start/finish crest. There was a white CanAm car flying thru the sky headed for the beer tent apparently? It was an amazing sight, I watched it 3 times And again grateful its only a sim when Raul became a virtual pancake against the bridge! Wasn't sure what had happened when I arrived on the scene
Good racing everyone Grats DJu, Great effort Juha!!!

Im still dizzy in my head
I was lapping Bruno for second or third time and another car was also laping Bruno and I think Yves was comming behind me to lap us all! Bruno and that other car moved aside, I start to overtake both and make room for Yves. Then Bruno lost control. It is all black for me from that moment. Im waiting some currage to check the replay. If ever...
