Don't really think anymore needs to be said, So long Big Eagle!

I can't be thankful enough to Robin Miller, who spent a lot of time with Gurney, did a serie of short videos, spoke about dinners with the old guys like Dan, Mario, Parnelli Jones, A.J... There's a lot to learn from these legends. Dan's passing is very sad. Godspeed...

It's so sad to see that generation of great drivers passing away one after another in the last years. I know it's life, and their time has comed, but there will be a big emptyness once they are all gone.

I was at the IMS museum at the same time as he and his family the day before the 500 in 2015. That felt like a huge honor, to stand feet away from him while they reminisced about his old cars.

Race in peace, legend.

A Finnish newspaper labeled Dan Gurney as the driver who started the tradition of spraying champagne on the podium, as if that defines the career of the great man. One of the true legends of motorsport, with achievements to his name most can only dream of, and one of my favourite drivers ever since I first played GPL.

Rest in peace, Dan.

People often say Mario Andretti is the most versatile driver ever to take a wheel in hand; Gurney was also more than worthy of that description. He won in F1, Indy cars, sports cars and NASCAR.  AND, of course -- his shop gave us many important race cars through the years. The Eagle Indy car series, the AAR Toyotas, etc.

Reading the chapter about the Toyota Eagles in the Mike Fuller IMSA GTP book these days, I came to think about his age and what he might be involved at the moment...

A fascinating man who lived a colourful life left us.
