| Hello guys, it is with great regret that I'll have to announce my retirement (for now) from simracing or any kind of online activity for a while, AKA I want to say goodbye to HSO and ISO for now and hope that I'll soon be able to return. - Why? (This is a spoiler because I can't imagine that anyone is really that much interested in why i'm going to retire for now):
Because the shit has hit the fan in my family. My father hasn't really been caring at all about me and has moved out of his and my grandfather's house a year ago. Since my parents seperated, circumstances has gotten worse to a point where I'm unable to stay sane in any way while staying at my current location. My father has literally told me on the phone to go die in a hole and that he doesn't give a damn about my well-being and my grandfather has just told me that because of arguments (about money, of course) between my father and grandfather, he decided to turn off all electricity, water and gas to my part of the house - which would mean, that for example my fridge would run dry and all the food would go bad.. I've talked to my mom, who lives in Berlin, on the phone about that and it hurt her real bad when I let her know about the circumstances and the complete torture I've been living in. She asked me to travel to Berlin today, which i'm preparing to do right now. We're going to go to what's called "Jugendamt" tomorrow. I guess in English it's called youth office or something like that (Google Translate told me that..) and we're going to look for a solution out of this misery.
Anyway, as long as I haven't found a reasonable place to stay or even as long as I haven't been able to move together with my girlfriend and find a place to study/work, i'm very unlikely to return to HSO/ISO. I might even not be able to participate in the 2018 season at all. Thank you all for two wonderful years of league racing. I love all of you guys, even my worst "rivals". Goodbye.

| Sorry to hear this Pascal , i hope that your issues can be resolved sooner rather than later. I cannot imagine the situation you are in. You will always be welcome here and at ISO as you are one of the characters of the group auf wiedersehen for now as we definitely want to see you again. _________________ | |

| Shit has hit the fan in a part of your life, even if it has a big effect on the rest. But you are always welcome here, and we hope to see you back soon. In any case, even if you can't race with us, stay around in the forum, you can do that from a phone or anywhere, don't lose touch with the things you have been enjoying just to center on the bad ones around you. You will see it gives you a better perspective. Take care. _________________ | |

| That's some pretty rough stuff you're going through right now, which understandably makes simracing and other kind of activities pretty insignificant, but I keep my fingers crosssed that things head the right direction for you. And when you got stuff sorted out, I'll count on a return in big style! _________________ Real men drive pink cars! | |

| You're a tough one, Pascal. You'll make it through and come out better on the other side. At your age, I was all sorts of f'd up. Damn thousand wonders I'm still breathing at all. It sucked..and parts of it still f'n suck. But the cliche is correct...that which doesn't kill us makes us stronger. Sometimes we cannot see what the hell these lessons from life are for, sometimes they never completely seem to make sense. They need not make sense all the time though. It is what we learn about ourselves and what we can gain from that if we stay centered that is important.
Hang in there. Looks like more than a few have faith in you.
See you on the other side.

| Best of luck to get things sorted mate.
As Alberto said, don't abandon the things you enjoyed. In someway, they can pull you through the worst of moments.
That being said, if there is anything I can do to help, just send me a pm.
Cheers,

| Just checked in here after arriving at my mom's place.. I'm really touched by all of your kind words, I really am. I want to thank you again for having given me a great chance at showing my skills, my qualities and, of course, the bad sides of the person I am - tempers and flaws. But through it all, it really touches me, reading all these replies and as Jason said, what doesn't kill us, makes us stronger. And since I strongly believe that my situation is at a big low, things can only go uphill from now on and I promise I'll make a return to sim racing with a boom - just wait See you all on the other side and I wanna wish all of you the best for 2018. Cheers, Pascal. | |

| Hey guys, long time no see! Just to update those who're curious about what became of me after the evening of December 7th:
I'm now a citizen of Germany's capital, Berlin. I got my official registration in the beginning of January and I found a good school close to my home where I'm repeating the second semester of 11th class after I've left my previous school in the middle of class 12.
I'm currently sharing a room with my younger sister and my racing equipment (AKA my Logitech Racing Wheel) are in the basement. The internet here is a house-wide connection so it sometimes cuts out really badly, which means sometimes my ping in certain tank MMO games rise up to ~6000ms. However, my personal situation has improved a lot in general and my mother and I are discussing bringing my equipment back up to the apartment we live in so I can resume racing. Playing other games all day and not being able to play and racing games since it's difficult with a keyboard got very boring so I asked her and she agreed on looking into it and we're going to get it up here in the nearest future. Which would mean that I could actually be able to, at some point, join you guys again at HSO with the CanAm championship, the F1 71 championship and, if possible and appropriate, I might even be able to apply for the Indy 500 this year.
I'm very happy with how things have evolved and (except for the dodgy internet which concerns me a little since I might cause trouble with lag..) I'm looking forward to coming back!
