My dad and I saw him perform the song at Indy in 2011. Everyone was singing right along with him, and you couldn't help but get goosebumps over the tradition and the pageantry. He will always be a part of the speedway lore. RIP

The majestic way he sung "Back home again in Indiana", couldn't help but get goose bumps, you knew the Indy 500 was a different huge event, he was loved around these parts (North Carolina) for his Andy Griffith show character Gomer Pyle, many funny scenes with him, a talented singer & actor, he will be missed, RIP Jim.
