Hope the guy driving that safety car decides to stay sober. Drunken safety car is about the most annoying thing I can think of.

But, given where I'm posting this I trust that he's been perfected to the limit :D ...so, hoping for the best.
...at least it's a shorter circuit and might not be following quite as long. (Meh, who am I kidding...grab the smokes and the drinks...I feel a lot of "follow the leader" coming in this one) :yaa:

If a car spins onto the grass, a yellow will not come out. It is only if a car stops on the racing surface. So if you blow and engine, try and pull off onto the grass before you come to a stop to press ESC.

But as we posted, we will be keeping an eye on the yellows and if people cause them unnecessarily we will take action. Round 5 - Portland Grand Prix [Jun 25th] - Page 4 1623587389

Had a long endurance race on rF2 this weekend.

I feel totally out of rhythm driving the car now, so I think it's best in the interest of us all that I'll give the race a pass so people that practiced a lot won't have to suffer from any... unsafe driving.

I'll thus offer my car if someone still wants it for tonight.

Pains me to not be racing, but I guess it's better to be sensible.

Well end of the race came as soon as I had to go through that chicane with more cars, as expected pig

Was hugging the right and thought I had the position on Jason but it seems we entered the chicane at the same time and came together in the middle. I did not count on him trying to let cars by and he did not count on me appearing from the right, so the misunderstanding ended littering the track with carbon fibre bits. Sorry for the others who then crashed on us. I'll take the blame for that, should have stayed more to the right through the chicane but when I lost sight of him on my left I thought he had braked and given up on the position :smil20:

Not sure what happened there.  I think just a lot of cars coming together at once and confusion ensued.  Embarassed

Prudent lors du restart, mais impossible de passer la chicane avec les voitures de Jason et d'Alberto renvoyées en piste par le mur de pneus. Crying or Very sad

really wanted to see the finish of this one, dodged a few incidents early, was taking it easy, not fighting for position, just content to hold station at the end of the line. lost focus for just a second, clipped the wall exiting the chicane, sheered off an entire corner. shame, car was handling well, sorry guys.

Wonderful quali, good race, really liked the track.
And then, my damn luck struck AGAIN.

So, I was 3rd in quali. Wonderful! I was doing well in the race! And then around half-way, Richard Wilks in front of me goes way wide into Turn 7 and then closes the door like nobody's business. Rightfully so, it was his corner. But stupid me went for it and we touched... I'm really sorry for that Richard, my fault entirely. But then, as if that touch wasn't enough, when I tried to go left to get back on track, Petr hit me in the back and ripped my wing off. Yay, at least 300 seconds to repair. If I get to the pits! Yeah, I tried to hug the inside wall but apparently, my car didn't want to survive so it just went sideways and I got slammed in the back by Richard Wilks again. My fault again, I guess. It was a blind corner, though. So yeah, great race again. Just wish I could finish a race for once...
My morality is pretty much beaten down now, I see no real point in driving here if I'm just not allowed or able to finish or something. This kind of bad luck is just ridiculous.

Also, i want to apologize to everyone I touched and/or caused any trouble to. I'm probably gonna give it up for good now, since my finish rate this year is just close to 0%.

Sorry about the very brief green at about lap 52......

No pressure, but was not cautious enough in chicane on colder tyres and somewhat too relaxed.......and sorry to any1 caught up in my mess.

I always loved Portland. Together with Michigan, it was my most driven track in ICR/ICR2 games more than two decades ago. Naturally, i was delighted to drive here. The Porsche engine is a beast that can't be unleashed. Even with boost 1 and lowest RPM limiter, it tends to overheat. But the chassis is simply awesome. I love how these cars handle. Anyway, the race was a wonderful experience. Close fights, some exciting moments, and the car was a pure pleasure to drive. I was in top 5 for most of the time. Unfortunately, Pascal had a contact with Richard, i couldn't avoid him, lost my front wing and got a puncture. That was still a managable damage and there was a good hope that i'll exit the pits on a lead lap. And i did. Unfortunately, the car started to smoke during the last seconds of my stop and the engine got cooked shortly after i rejoined the track. It's a massive disappointment, as i was having awful lot of fun. I hope i'll put my hands on these cars again, as it's by far the best mod HSO has ever created and my most favorite racing series, too.

Well, first of all, I wish to thank you for giveing me this car. I just adore it!

Second, I had wonderfull 50some laps in this race.. I really enjoyed every one of that!
I had great duel with mr. Sabre, even, I dont think it was so duel as he was not able to overake me, even much faster, but somehow, it lookes either he was too carefull, either I drove good enoght. Ill let him to judge that Smile

Third, Dana, Im really sorry for hitting you. To be honest, it was not my fault, becose the car behinde me hit me and then I hit you. I think it was mr. Blom (he had few more kamikaze moves - I have to learn to perform those Smile, but I cant tell for sure. Anyhow, you slowed drasticly, and suprised me.. My appologies again.

And than the backstrait maihem, Im so sad I couldnt avoid that.. I lost 260secs in pits for repair. I lost few positions, and, what is worse, few laps, and since it was half of the race, I really hoped I could recover that, somehow.

But then "connection lost", for the first time in few years now.. arh.. Im a bit dissapointed becose of that. But again, I enjoyed every minute on the track.

Thank you all.

Oh well, not to much luck for me at the moment, too. Joined with 15 minutes of quali still running, could do some decent laps for a mid-field starting position. So far, so good. I didn't bother developing for a proper quali setup, so I basically made some laps with a race setup with less fuel and more boost. I had a idea I applied during the warmup session, and that worked making the car somewhat more predictable.
So the race started, and I soon realised I had a huge flaw in my setup. It was relatively fast (not really, when I left, my PB was still 3 1/2 seconds slower than overall best), but I gained that speed in the corners, but as soon as things got straight, other cars just ran away from me. Way to much drag. I had a little fight with Jason White early on, that proved pretty frustrating for being a victim on the straigts, Alberto soon passed me. Then I had a hefty slide that cost me the contact to the cars right in front of me, and put me from 16th to 19th place or so. Once I had no cars in front of me, I could go a second faster right away... :hum:
Then kind of disaster struck, as the race leaders lapped me, and soon thereafter, a yellow was thrown, and that basically sealed the deal. I was the fastest of the lapped cars, but couldn't bridge the gap to the cars in front of me anymore, so my position was basically set, and the remaining question was how many cars in front of me would drop out. While the beginning allowed for some proper racing, towards the end, it became bit of a yellow fest again, whigh got me as far as 8th. Then at another restart, Mick Chapman in front of me lost his car, crashed in the chicane, slid into my path and I couldn't avoid him anymore. I'm sure no happy man right now. I drove very careful, very restrained this time, as I really wanted to carry this race home, and yet I end up with another DNF. Very dissappointing Sad

Well engine blown after a good race. Was on an easy 3rd and saved the car for the last third of the race. Boost was never over 3.

Again got contacts with Pascal which cracked my right rear suspension. It cost a lot of race pace, maybe i could get close to Richard and Grant in the end. Was on a 59.0 in pre testing.

Grats to podium :champ: And Juha :drink:

PS: It was a disappointing race, but still scored every race this season

I was running a lot of wing to make the car more stable which made me quick in the corners but slow on the straight. I didn't want to dive up the inside into a corner so I just kept pushing and hoping that you would make a mistake, but you didn't make any big ones. It was fun and we kept it clean :top:
I was running 4th towards the end and made a pitstop but didn't get any fuel! (this happen at Phoenix also) so I had to make another pitstop but still in 4th place where I was most likely to finish until the engine blow-up on the 87th lap. Twisted Evil That is annoying.

Bit of a disappointing finish for me as well. Was being very cautious and letting attrition do it's thing. Had worked my way all the way to P8 from my [near end] of the grid start.

I was surprised by the pace immediately and I was initially struggling to keep up even though the car was stable and really planted once the tires were warmed. Felt really comfortable...a few scary moments into T1. Nearly plowed into the rear of a few different guys as they were very cautious getting through and was dodging debris when Jason and others got together there. After I settled in a bit and the nerves stopped making my feet dance Embarassed I was able to keep my pace fairly well.

Was happy just to follow along after I'd made my way into the top 10, wasn't trying to battle anyone too much. And then it happened. Onto the back straight, power on hard, engine goes boom...no warning, nothing showing on the HUD, nothing. Sad

But, it was fun while it lasted and, as always, the broadcast was great fun as well (THANKS again)

Looking forward to finding another seat or two in this series if I can.

Grats to Grant on the win and the rest of the podium....

Till next time.... :yaa:
