Sunday June 18th

Since 33 qualified and there were drivers too slow to make the 33 car field, three alternates are named (34th, 35th and 36th fastest) for Race Day, in the case that one or more of the qualified cars do not appear. If less than 33 cars appear with the alternates included, the remaining slots will be filled on a first-come first-serve basis.  Drivers arriving on a first-come first-serve basis who attempted to qualify on May 14th must drive the car they attempted to qualify. Drivers who did not attempt to qualify on May 14th are free to choose from the cars that will not attend.

This will go down in history as the "rain delayed" HSO Indy 500.

I guess somebody smuggled the RFE weather plugin onto the server that day and made it go bonkers

That would actually be cool, using that plugin with a historic mod that supports it, along with inters and rain tyres. Who'd be our "Regenmeister"?

So assuming Alan and Raul say yes, we will have 30 cars confirmed.  That would leave three slots for non-qualifiers and non-alternates to snap up on Race Day.
