Normally I would shout out loud "here" but to the circumstances that I was always too late for a free car....keep it, try it. The reason is, because of this, I did 0 laps. I know I can drive but it isn't fair and might be dangerous. I see it for real and say, this is too late, no setup, no experience to this track so it is better to stay out of the race.

Im so sorry Steven, I was ok yesterday, but my condition got bad during the night, and I was at ER this morning, spent the afternoon in the bed, hoped I could sit and drive, but it seems I was wrong..

Was having fun and doing fine in the race except for a spin (no damage) early in the race which caused the first yellow. Around lap 80 or something I got a disconnection...been a while last time that happened to me scratch

Was having great fun, led a few laps, had great pace, some fantastic battles with Dana and my teamie Richard  :top:

But the pizza oven didn't want to play ball Sad

Hopefully I can finally get some points on the board at Indy.

I just want to congratulate everyone too, we all behaved much better while racing and everyone was great under yellow from what I and the commentary team saw.

Thanks to Jonatan and Scott for the broadcast and commentary.

See you all at Indy :conduit:

Great race start guys and gals. Very impressive. Enjoyed most of the race but...

Arrggh I am Rusty. Spun under aero push conditions a few times (once while taking evasive action from a crash ahead). Sorry to Richard if that was you I touched wheels with.

Pascal appeared out of nowhere right in front of me as came to my box and WHAM. I suspect I killed us both. Never saw any warping until that point. :aie: :aie: :aie:

Grats to whoever wins.

Well.... What can I say? Hell of a race..

Had a good qualifying in Bob Wilson's ex car, actually did those two laps with a setup that Bob and I created together during pre-season testing, so it fitted the car perfectly.

During the race, Dave Jaques told me to stay safe and try to finish and I did my best to do so, but I also fought hard and did very well. At some point I was leading but I screwed up my fueling strategy so I went back to the end of the line.
At this point I'd like to apologize to Richard Coxon and Peter Blom for having touched them and caused them to spin. I'm terribly sorry for that.
So, took the Lola back on track and until lap 150, I managed to put myself back to the lead! I was about to win this race! Then, since he's driving a Penske, Alberto overtook me and I was just trying to keep up with him and in lap 153, my car suddenly decided, "Right turn, Cylde!" and went straight into the Turn 2 wall. I tried to keep it driving but I spun and it caused a yellow.
Went to the pits: 500 seconds for repairs. Great! Crying or Very sad Evil or Very Mad
About 30-40 seconds later, I get a car pushed up my bumm. Mike Becnel!!! Evil or Very Mad Evil or Very Mad
So, that was my rear wing gone, my rear suspension screwed over again, and I thought, no. F*** this, it's just not worth it anymore.
I'm so endlessly frustrated right now, not only because of the unwanted surprise butt*** from Mike, but mostly because my car decided to f*** my race up again. Typical Mikula luck, I'd say.
But most of the frustration is here because I so wanted to finish or even win this race and dedicate it to Bob, not only because he gave me the base for the wonderful setup I used in the race but also because this is his home track and the car I drove was his car...

Well.. gotta pack my bags now, class trip is waiting. See you at Indianapolis..

Too optimistic on cold tires. I guess that's karma for me having gotten a stop and go thanks to you braking on one of the restarts :frank:

Grats to Jacob, well deserved win :top: , only pity the race ended under yellow. Again, too many caution laps, strategy went out of the window and became russian roulette Evil or Very Mad

Gutted. My car was a dream to drive, i was confident i could go all the way, but unfortunally my game froze 3 times during the race, the second to last cost me the lead on a restart, and the last one almost put me and Alberto out of the race Sad

Congrats Jacob, i knew you would follow the same strategy as me and not stop until the end.

stop and go on the first caution, i believe for passing a car that was stopped in the grass (and then disconnected?). that put me a lap down and made it awkward the rest of the race, wanted to run the pace i could with the somewhat poor handling march86, but also tried to stay out of the way. just rode around the entire race.

major props to the group we have, sure it would be great if it was even cleaner with fewer cautions, but for an online race we did pretty good. special moment, i believe around lap 155 from memory, someone got sideways off of turn2 on a restart and everyone stacked up, even 3, 4 wide, but slowing to give room, car recovered and everyone continued with minimal to no contact, just amazing for a sim race.

contrast to that, the restart where jason and i were laps down at the front, seemed like some went well before the green or the lead car. was quite messy, and really unnecessary.

thanks for the one off ride, nice to put in some laps,
dave

Having watched nearly the entire CART 88 season on Youtube, I was frequently reminded that The Q stands for quality, always has, always will. Unfortunately the same doesn't go for my engine. Like Ferrari, Porsche has a logo featuring a prancing, but for my car I reckon My Little Pony would be more suitable. :D

Qualifying was a fine balance between performance and blowing the engine. The engine won't manage two laps at speed before turning itself onto a mobile BBQ so I gave myself two laps to warm the tyres and the only quick lap wasn't good enough.

In the race I managed to stay on the lead lap, but engine's urge for cooling meant it was a sitting duck (Maybe they could include one in their logo to keep the pony company?). Unless I dived into each turn like a kamikaze there was no way I could overtake or defend. If I turned the boost up, it started frying itself, and the same happens when running less radiator. All I could do was hope the cautions would happen when I needed them, which was just before the leaders started to lap me.

It was working out reasonably well until I lost it in T1 and realised that, despite not being a Mondeo, a March can also lose its rear wing. Three laps gone and I finished last of the running cars. I did get my rear wing back for once. Eat that, Mondeo. :langue:

I don't feel like I threw away a good result. 13 cars finished on the lead lap, and they were all faster than me, so it would have ended with zero points anyway.

Thanks for the reception, means a lot to me, I'm very glad how this one worked out. I lost the 1998 Milwaukee race on a late restart, so feels very good to make things right tonight!

What really made my race, was a bit of damage I got just before the first caution. The long pit stop made that I lost a lap, and from then on I was forced to seek alternative strategies from the leaders. As it turned out, I was able to get my lap back quite soon, and then I got lucky with a caution. Making the last pitstop first was key. I barely ever had to turn up the boost, but even if Richard hadn't had his issues, I felt very confident with my car on low fuel.

What a fantastic combo this mod and track turned out to be. Really immersive racing, absolutely terrific stuff. Thanks again!

Caught in the last 20 laps by Dana´s spin, should have been a better finish than 11th :drink:
