If you can get through the first 25 to 30 laps unscathed, you will be in great shape.

| thats my tactics...start, stay the hell out of the way, learn the lines of all drivers and try to finish. If I finish it won't be at my starting pos....
so I just say to myself: stay calm...maybe let them pass, we will see us later.

| rFactor randomly minimized under yellow. By the time I brought the application back up I was in the wall. Google says it could be a number of programs that are the cause so I can't even sit here and troubleshoot how to fix it. Shame because the car was fast. | |

| FFS. Fought like hell to stay on the lead lap after an early penalty. Blew the engine when I spun, otherwise no damage. FFS. | |

| Pitted after i hit my fuel window on the 5th? caution, screwed myself out of the race trying to pass a guy too hard who was weaving all over the track trying to hold me off for p10, but more annoyed that I got jumped on every single restart at the beginning and not a single thing was done about it, what is the point of single file restart if you aren't going to enforce people staying in line. I tried to play fair on starts and almost got screwed for it. Oh well on to long beach | |

I was wondering too what was legal/illegal on restarts. I know the rules said single file but I swear I saw cars out to the inside wall before the green would come out.

| When the green comes out again after the yellow, that is green to the field. You can overtake from that point onwards.
We also encourage people to be slightly staggered as to eliminate the chance of accidents should the field suddenly bottle up from people braking.

Well apparently you are allowed to lay back and get on throttle way before the leader also before the green is even a factor, as far as "slightly staggered" the penskes were on the pit wall while I was on the outside wall.

| As long as they are behind you i have no issue with them being on the opposite side of the track. When we mention single file, we are referring to it being a single file restart and not a 2x2 restart. | |

| What a shame! Great race, from 20th to 2nd...but then my engine blew and I didn't really know why.
Nevertheless great racing! Sorry to, I think Bob Wilson, at the pitstop, there were no space to pit and it was not enogh for everyone of us. So sorry for that, didn't want to block you or so.
So, great work to the modders!
Now I have to wait till june 11th and I hope ther will be a cockpit left.
Cheers and thanks guys...!

| Ok since we're running a bunch of ovals this year it's probably best to clear this up now. The rule is written as: On restarts, all cars must be no more than two car lengths apart, and single file.I thought maybe in the heat of the moment I remembered how the field looked incorrectly so I went back to the replay. I mean, technically it's single file as cars haven't passed each other, but come on now, that's not single file | |

| Ok for future reference, that is allowed. What is not allowed is being side by side, or falling back too much to get a run on the guy in front. The single file rule means no side by side people basically, not follow the exact same line of the car in front. | |

| Got taken out by a damn Marshall! Around lap 82 I dived into the pits and came out next to somebody...suddenly I was halted by a stone hard Marshall! Quite terrible to end the race that way I started last because I spun on my qualy lap. First laps were interesting and with every caution I gained a few places quite easily, was driving in the top 5 when I crashed so everything would have been possible. Anyway great racing guys and I am enjoying this season so far | |

| My restarts last year were better. I fell asleep on twice this time around though, and my gearing wasn't right for them, too this time. I was pretty happy with 3rd in quali, though I felt I didn't really exploited the chassis' potential. The first segment was okay, though I got jumped at the start by the Porsche. Then I lost a few positions after restarts and had problems following the cars in front of me. In lap 20, I brushed the wall and that bent my suspension and made my car oversteer pretty severe. Fun enough, I could nearly go flat out through T1/2, but no longer through T3/4... Finally I fell victim to that atrocious T4 wall with its big appetite for rear wings. I felt the car getting a bit light on the front, but I wouldn't really want to pull more on the steering wheel as I didn't trust my rear end anymore, so that was it for tonight. Pretty dissappointed right now, gotta see how the car behaves on street course in a few weeks. | |

| "To finish first one must first finish." Or be Finnish. Something like that. Anyway, I crashed out of the lead; so disappointed because I was thoroughly enjoying the race. Looks like a lot of quick cars suffered from the snap oversteer out of T4 that I succumed to.
Will have to dial that out somehow! Thanks to HSO for the great series.
Great win, Alan. Congratulations to the finishers.
