| Best thing I did this year was buying a roadbike. Much joy, although fully analog! Best thing ever. Okay, right after some good simracing that is I got a smartphone later this year,, originally with the intend of using it as a bike computer and GPS device. I quit that idea after some stupid cow took me of the bike, as she was crossing my lane without taking her eyes of her phone (spot the irony!) which resulted in a pretty hard crash a phone probably wouldn't have survived. I'm gonna buy something dedicated for that purpose now. Nontheless, I can't deny its a very practical thing to have and make good (not intense) use of it, both professionally as well as private. I'm working in a retirement home, where its always a good idea to have music available, so with a bluetooth speaker, you can provide quick magic if needed. But I use it differently from others and I thought I'd use, and sure need less data volume than expected. I ain't gonna tie myself to a provider for 2 years, as I did in the past, even though it costs a little more. Its fun to watch other people though. I was at the launderette this morning, and some guy interupted filling his washing machine three times to pull out his phone and check for the latest messages. Haven't checked, but at that rate the messages came in, I guess he's still in there, folding his sweaters... Edit: To come back to topic for a moment: no rF2 for me, if they are tied to Steam. I guess I'm gonna concentrate on retro gaming in the near future _________________ Real men drive pink cars! | |

| I still don't have a smartphone though. I somehow seemed to hate phones and barely phone anyone. Still using an old Nokia from 2009. Don't get me wrong, I am still not a hughe fan of Steam. Creating different installs will now always be more of a hassle than before. And I am not sure if you can get all installs updated without re-installing them except the base one. I kinda liked to keep my leagues apart. Otherwise, it is okay. Never gotten into trouble on the net I guess so no issues. There's also not much to know about me, my FB account is mostly just games and anime, so dunno what "useful" information they'd get from me there. I've seen what NSA&Co. are doing(they even work with companies like Verizon, MS, Google, etc. and for example can "modify" your router to access data), but I personally wouldn't be useful to such agencies and organisations(I guess, unless there are other options than just to read data). Already received spam mail or phishing attempts before, I usually smell when it's fishy. What's your internet provider Michael? They could still collect data about you and what you are looking at on the net("tracking cookie"), then pass it on to orngaisations or secretly get hacked by the USA(maybe NSA), China, Russia, etc, "handing" your profile to them. Generally: You are here, you are not safe _________________ Murray: "JUNDT'S OFF-TRACK AGAIN!" Martin: "That's a replay Murray, he's not even in the race anymore." | |

Rule of the thumb: is it cheap, or even free, be wary.. Somehow you pay nonetheless But you can install rf1 as many times as you like for free. Anyway if you want a steam based sim, in my opinion Automobilista is the one to have. All the cars feel good to me, and the caterhams are absolutely brilliant.

| i decided to redownload rf2. i saw race department are having a le mans endurance series on it and thought maybe i should try it again, and see if my moaning about its still justified.
a lot of the base cars are still horrible, but at least the game seems to have a bit of direction now. time to download the enduracers mod to see how that is.

a lot of the base cars are still horrible, but at least the game seems to have a bit of direction now. time to download the enduracers mod to see how that is. According to some die-hards like the guy from pretendracecars.net(Austin Ogonovski) and Joe Nathan(driver at Atlantic Motorsport), the physics by Enduracers are wrong and the tyres are incorrect aswell But hey, not everything has to be URD in endurance racing! And if you don't like it, don't race it! As long as there are other people that enjoy it Btw: RDLMS has offered me a guarenteed slot in either P2 or GTE as I finished the last RDTCC season as vice champion. Currently wondering if I should take it up and if, with which team. My old British team THR is defunct so it's probably either my own team(Scuderia Basilea) or I'll ask the guys at MadCape and Satellite Racing. One thing's for sure though: You need to be premium member if you want to race... _________________ Murray: "JUNDT'S OFF-TRACK AGAIN!" | Here's "Glass Joe" on YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jR5irL9aWg4

It's a shame that Endu apparently messed up and dislike it, but people can decide themselves if they want to race the mod or not...
Krohn? I dislike the team owner himself since he should go and retire, he's a danger on track. _________________ Murray: "JUNDT'S OFF-TRACK AGAIN!" Martin: "That's a replay Murray, he's not even in the race anymore."

| Well sad to say A. Ogonoski is right, the physics are indeed appaling, judging by the numbers i saw, and the rfactor1 version... _________________ Join the current HSO team as we move to ISO in 2020!http://historicsimracing.123.st/t4220-important-announcement-for-the-2020-season | |

Well, probably. You could also join me on my quest, because I am not sure if A) I'd get my own team together IF I try to or B) get enough interest from the guys at MadCape/Satellite Racing/Vodbull Motorsport Have to say that I also still enjoyed the GT cars, especially the Corvette and the new Aston Martin. _________________ Murray: "JUNDT'S OFF-TRACK AGAIN!" You know what is funny? After his lengthy and elaborated post ... the discussion goes on around DX9 and graphics. Nobody cared about the physics In the end, people tend to get what they deserve. I'll add my two cents anyway: Once you understand how the ISI engine works, you learn that it is not as simple as plugging in real values and expecting real results. Your knowledge about the real behaviour of a component (Note I'm not even saying the complex full car) allows you to coax the ISI engine into replicating it as much as you can in the limited environment of a consumer PC, and for that sometimes you have to accept certain not realistic values (Inertia is a well known example, that was flawed in rF1 and even ISI admitted that). Another example are "weird" suspension layouts like a Watts linkeage, or McPherson struts. The other thing you have to bear in mind, is that you strive to create in the end something that average Joe can drive in his home PC despite replicating how the real thing handles - and despite the fact that average Joe would die quickly if asked to drive in anger the real thing. I can't really image that ANY of us, not even Greg who has real racing experience and balls of the XXL size, could take an Eagle Offenhauser with 1100 HP and log even 170 MPH laps at Indianapolis. _________________
