Gimli Raceway project for rFactor 1 - WIP

Hello, all.

I thought you might be interested in my recent project to add to the Formula Atlantic mod. I have started construction of Gimli Raceway. This will be a 2016 version of the track.

Work in progress.

Sadly I can not post pictures.

Right click on the image icon at the bottom left of the first post and open in a new tab will take you to the Photobucket images.

At the moment, I do not have rF2. However, Once I have the track finished and released, Anybody can take it and convert it to rF2.

Here is some more detail progress for Gimli. It's coming along nicely. The scaling is perfect at 1.3 miles around and the widths of track surfaces are dialed in. Lap times are right on the money.

A nice Formula Ford there. It should be a good track for them.

Yes, thank you for this lovely FF mod you have created, David. In fact, the whole reason I am building this track is for my brother to train with during winter.

He has just finished restoring a 1970 Hawke DL28 and finally got it on the track at Gimli this last summer. The lap times and shift points are right on target.

The thing is, I did update the Formula Ford mod and it now includes a Hawke DL11 which was a 1973/74 car. There are 7 chassis in the Formula Ford mod now and I'm hoping that we can run a Formula Ford Festival here at HSO this next season.

I think that your brothers car is a DL2B. Great to see it.

Here is some interesting stuff. One of my beta testers assisting with the build of the track races Formula V at Gimli. He has taken the Vintage Formula V mod and tweaked it to match his real life data. Tire grip (lateral G forces) and engine power (speed) all match now.

The image here is an overlay of both real life data and data from the simulation with MoTec.

That's pretty dang close. Perfect training tool for the winter now.

The "M" (colored lines) are the real life. The "O" (Black line) are rFactor.
