In regard to the results of Round 12 (Heat 1 of the Michigan Twin 125s)
We have determined that rFactor incorrectly gave penalties to multiple drivers on the lap 59 restart. This appears to have been caused by the #11 car being ahead of the pace car at the time the restart was given. It was our understanding that once the pace car is in the pit lane, the driver leading the serial need not be concerned with their exact position relative to the pace car. However, based on the replay evidence, the pace car's position relative to #11 (which led the serial) was taken into account right up to the restart, even though the pace car was in the pit lane. The result was that #11 was incorrectly scored as the race leader (in fact, #11 was in 9th place), causing rFactor to conclude multiple drivers were not in the right order for the restart, hence the penalties.
Since the laps that came after this incident were run erroneously, we will declare the race official at the end of lap 58. The results of Round 12 have been edited accordingly.
Furthermore, for the remaining three rounds, we would advise drivers leading the serial to a restart to maintain their yellow speed until the restart is given and stay behind the pace car regardless of whether it is on the track or in the pit lane.
