The car in that video is the FT5000 car which is powered by a 5.0L V8 Ford Coyote engine. The Supercars 5000 car is powered by a V8 Supercar engine but it didn't run at the Gold Coast event. Probably due to lack of development as it looked very nervous even on the straight during its first showing. On a street course it would have been very dangerous. Super5000 demo run.

Precious ear porn.
IMO, the sound is similar from a 1967 F1 rFactor mod of BRM H16 but this is real world version.
This must be modded into sim. Quick.

Awesome
Just curious, but with Super Formula as the Asian stepping stone for points to the Super License, why not this as Australian variant?
Not saying it it HAS to be part of the FIA ladder, it would be amazing on it's own.

They've finally turned it into another modern looking car. I preferred the original car that had the high air intake for the engine, as the old F5000s did. It should be racing 2019. http://www.v8sleuth.com.au/news/2018/08/23/new-s5000-open-wheelers-all-go-for-2019-

Urgh... even those with the Halo and low air intake... I mean, yeah the Halo is FIA requirment for open-cockpit cars but.. why not the high airbox?

There are few parts that seem to fit to another. Awkward design

Looks like the front of an F4 car stuck on rear of a F2 car,and looks just like all the other series, much preferred the other one as Dave said

Love the mash-ups visual, F5000 on F3 car, large tires. Bring it on!

Looks like some kind of F2 rip-off now... Where's the big airbox and mix between early 70s and modern styling gone?!

Its a shame that they changed to the modern car but it can now run as a FIA series as it now meets all of the safety regulations.
