Round 5 - Vallelunga Car Trophy - Vallelunga [March 9th]

Pascal hurry we restarted

Well first race was an appaling one, some mistakes saw me drop down the order, and then i ran out of fuel with one lap to go!

Second one went much better, altough i made a terrible start and was last after that, it made me avoid all the carnage, and with a few changes to the setup, i was now competitive enough to get second on class

C'est la première fois chez HSO qu'un adversaire m'envoie volontairement en tête-à-queue en me poussant par l'AR en sortie d'épingle....après avoir déjà essayé quelques virages plus tôt par des coups de pare chocs ciblés.......Pas très gentleman comme comportement, voire même pas du tout...

Mais bon, à par avec lui, je me suis bien amusé avec tous les autres et c'est ce que je retiendrai

BIG Sorry Didier that I spun you..    But after the big lag in the first corner I was pushed by Ben also into a spin. After that I pushing hard to get back to the top of class 2. I was 1,5 sec. behind Richard (P2 / Class 2) and then Didier was fighting like hell although he drive a class 1 car. After that I was trying too hard to overtake. I'm really sorry for that.

Well, that went way better than expected.

Had a lucky punch in Race 1 with Jonathan, David, Richard and Peter making some mistakes, so that in the end I found myself On P2.

In the second race I expected to lose many places to the faster guys behind me, but car drove a lot better than in the first race.(although I didn't change anything )

After I missed the green lights my start was o.k., sadly Peter lost his car later, I think I could have been a great Race between us.

Grats to Yves and José, I just cannot believe how fast you both are

Still sorry for the bump, Jan T., in the first turn. A lag made jumped your car and Yves, just in front me. I couldn't avoid you. And it was too dangerous to wait for you in that place. And later, when I saw you behind me, I let you overtake me.

Otherwise good session for me, I took my bigger points in this champ. And I'm now the HSO driver with the most of start.
Maybe I should take care of my finishes races now.

Late reply, but at least I'd like to give you one:
^^ Well, after the race at Magione which I really didn't like (most likely because the Ford didn't do as I wanted it to do ._. ) this one was one of my favourite tracks In the first heat, I loaded like... 21 laps of fuel for an 18 (+2) lap race and in the end, when José lapped me and I only had 17 laps to drive, I had to be very VERY careful not to run out of fuel completely! In the last sector of the last lap, my car actually began to struggle to even develop its power But still, I'm proud of my result!
Heat 2 was a bit worse for me, as i was kind of pushed on the gravel in turn 1 after the curva grande, but I managed to finish where I started and that's good enough I suppose

Race 1 was a lot of fun so thank you Jan and Richard (Shame about the fuel) Almost caught Alberto!

Auto race director liked me at least.. never had so much air time.

R2, hmm best sums up this one.

Had a good start but lost a couple places due to usual lap 1 scuffles.. i then had a sierra turn in on me after it seemed to brake late and contact was made.. lost time rejined last i think, then i was in my opinion squeezed to the inside by a rejoining car, and lost ground... spun a lap later and hit barriers

Oh well no-one died so its ok, had fun afterall

I went with softs and by race end couldn't push them without cooking the left front big time, it was really hair rising to see you close the gap so fast and I had to do my best to keep cool and avoid a stupid mistake. I knew it was going to be really close and so it was, good racing at its best and a top 5 for both of us

Well...

A generally frustrating evening, sorry for letting it go out over you all


The Alfa really didn't like the circuit and I'm not that big of a fan of Vallelunga either so that probably didn't help.


Had a couple of nice battles during the evening but dissapointed that I couldn't keep the car on the road like I normally do.

See you all next round, hopefully at a much better circuit
