Started out quali using a borrowed 32 inch tv from our bedroom...it didn't help my time-I got a 1:42.xx.
4 laps gone...
Returned it to the bedroom and returned to my dinky 12 inch monitor.Got down to business and flipped it on its roof (roll hoop) out of the final chicane on my hot lap....
7 laps gone
Headed back out, renewed focus, but botched the hairpin. Now in the mid 1:41s
9 laps gone
Was using hard qualis up to this point. Swapped to softs and got ready for a final go at it.
Up until the carousel turn before the long back straight it was probably my best lap ever in this mod. Got off line in the carousel and on the power late may have hurt my top end, clean through the chicane for a...
1:40.088
I'll be in front of a lot of guys I shouldn't be at the start. No worries. I'll be watching my mirrors carefully...

Well, I qualified.
Assuming 11 people join us tomorrow, I guess 15th out of 26 isn't bad

The Fondmetal is a tough car to make speed in, Joshua..
and if past history holds true, just finish and you'lll be in the top 10. Lots of attrition for a multitude of reasons.

I meant 15th out of 26 for qualifying.
But, okay - I'll be sure to try and finish.

Greg-merci.
I sat in on Greg's qualifying lap at the last venue, and I think a great secret to his speed is how very late he brakes into turns...it was beyond belief....but great fun to watch.
It was as if he threw out an anchor-at the last possible moment...

Race was doomed from the start...
The threat of watching my sister in laws newborn had been looming all day long, just never received confirmation of the exact time.
After the kids ignored several phone calls (communicating with them as I was trying to do laps-pointlessly) I was finally informed that my mother in law was in the driveway waiting with the baby.
Parked it...was looking forward to this one, but just not the time...

Just as I did the FL, I went off at T1 and crashed.
I dislike the behaviour of these cars when you're on the edge, it seems impossible to drive more than 1 lap on the limit.
I drove the LE '94 mod yesterday at the same track, and boy, it was so much more fun and nice to push the car. And even though it was LE, it never felt as weird as this mod.
I just can't seem to find a setup to eliminate the misbehaviour of my car...
That's the 2nd time in a row I crash from possible 3rd
