Round 12 - Donington Park [June 12th]

Not the luckyest race in my life ...

Did a decent qualy and knew I had a good car for the race, so after a reasonable start I lurked behind Jonathan and Teemu while conserving my tires and waiting till they made an error. I was surprised to see how comfortably I could follow them carefully while not cooking the tires, which is something critical in this track. But Carl was behind in a faster car and was in a hurry to get by, so he would not loose the head of the race, where the other ones of his group were slowly fading in the distance. I noticed already he had some trouble at the braking before the chicane on the previous lap, and in the next one the incident happened as he locked brakes. Well, that's just a racing incident, it was never going to be easy to outbrake an M3 with that big japanese boat

The real problem was that in the incident I got passed by lots of other cars that were having a tight fight, and ended up with cooked tires after the spin. Some corners later, as seen in the video posted by Ole, he and an M3 went wide out of the track and when they rejoined I got pushed to the outside. I gave up the corner and therefore was forced to a late turn in, but when turning in, I got rammed by Matt, who was rocketing on the inside for the gap. Spin again, and definitive end of my hopes, as I stood very far away from the cars of my own class, which in such a short race you can never make up.

After the spin I tried to cool tires and build a rythm, overtook Matt and started getting faster. But tires started heating up and I was hopelessly far away, so I let Matt pass and cruised for a finish.  

Apologizes to Matt if he felt I shut the door heavily on him; the only reason was as I said that I had been forced to the outside and had gotten well past the turn in point. Had I not turned in like that, I would have run to the grass on the outside.

Bad race...at the second turn Vincent spun and of all only i catched him...my front rear was gone...i did a full lap without a wheel...1 min lost at pits...race to forget

In Caterham, it's pretty close

Oh, but I see that Matt Richards haven't got his win at race 1 to his name anymore. So right now, it seems like no-one won that race in the Corolla Cup!

1. You should have watched some WTM races, he is a great driver(and kind of my teammate since I joined THR ).

But I think I am quite safely in 3rd

Wish I was able to make more races this season, and wish there would have been a larger entry list to some races as well. Really enjoyed this season, only managed 5 races but scored 4 podiums and 3 wins.

Im a little confused,

At Silverstone, it says ole had 6 points for second, and I had 10 for a win.

At donnington, Ole had 9 points and I had 7?

is that for fastest lap etc? like 9 points for a win, 1 for fastest lap?

I am absent from the finale due to a work commitment (real life boo)
But a quick thank you to the organisers and all the drivers this season. Toroughly enjoyable league for me as a newbie to your community. Pretty competitive field and clean fair(ish) racing  Hopefully see you in another league here in the near future.
