Ok. So presuming that I can change tyres during the race (lets hope so with this chassis) there isn't a speed limit in the pit lane. The only pit lane speed limit mentioned by the rules is when a penalty is being served.

- - A driver who would have to do a drive through penalty will have to drive through the pitlane at 100km/h max (60mph), even if there is no pit lane speed limit announced for the track. A driver failing to respect this will get a 40s penalty added to his final race time.

Should we be making stops for tyres this race do we have to abide by any pit lane speed limits?

No there is no speed limit if you just need to pit for tires or repairs. This rule is here so that a drive through cost you time, if you could blast through the pitlane at 250 kmh, that wouldn't exactly be a penalty Smile

Think I have some advantage starting last on a street track Razz still not sure how to approach my race, just finishing will be a good start I guess.

OK for those who did not have it yet here is the link for the race broadcast . We're still relative novices in broadcasts so tonight's show might not be perfect as yet Smile .

Yes if the auto save option works - for some reason sometimes it doesn't, so it's a bit of a lottery I'm afraid... fingers crossed ^^ .

The only ONLY advantage to having the DFV cosworth is fuel economy. Running 300 rpm less than max with mix 6 and engine brake 4 I still only use 2.4 L / lap. I could probably get away with more engine braking :D

Oscar.

I did a couple of laps with mix at 10 and my car averages 2.5L a lap. Maybe that's because Im with EBM at 0; but still with my maths that equals 205l for the 82 laps race. Am I right?

You lucky bastard, I will have to go down to 3 if I want to see the race end. Maybe 4 for short periods to overtake or so.

Any of you have worked out how many times we will need to stop for tires? Not counting damage, of course ... Rolling Eyes

My maximum fuel of 200l should do 83 laps with fuel mix 5, fingers crossed.

More or less engine brake (depending on mod) increases engine braking, too much make your rear wheels snap out of control and too little wont stop you in time.

So how does this affect the fuel economy? More engine brake causes more fuel lost per lap, or less?

As the "braking map" number increases, there is a higher amount of throttle automatically applied when you coast, instead of simply the iddle fuel. That reduces engine braking -because it's actually not braking but turning slower with less fuel- but obviously consumes more fuel than iddle.

Well that lasted very little Sad Never felt comfortable in race trim, and got distracted while reducing engine boost and missed my braking point. Avoided the accident, but the engine stalled as I had not activated autoclutch

Engine died after two laps. I think I have loaded something wrong, but I guess engine cooling was 5 and that's too low. Grrrr, I was up to P10 already when I noticed it's not gonna last long Crying or Very sad

Sad Talk about stalling. I was lapping a Modena and just shifted on one of the bumps exiting T1, damage, stall, over. I am shattered anyway so a mistake was just a matter of time for me.

Still had fun though Smile

See you all next time out.

Oscar.
