I looked at the practice numbers last night. Nissan better have a ladder because the hole they are in is deep. It will be a "cut your stomach out on the boardroom table" for whichever Nissan exec sponsored the idea. Those times are brutally bad.

Well personally I am looking forward to the Audi Porsche war. I hope we do not have a situation like the 2010 Audi Peugeot explodeathon where all the Peugeots hand grenaded. I was cheering against them but still was sick to my stomach looking at the grief the factory Peugeot engineering leader showed when the final car (a privateer) retired. He was broken. His heart might as well have stopped. I felt so bad for the whole organization. Thankfully Audi was gracious in winning. Damn those Peugeots looked good.
Iirc, that was the Oreca boss Hugues de Chaunac when the Oreca Peugeot retired from 3rd within an hour of the end.

He was there also. All weekend long they interviewed the guy I am referring to. He was conferring with the independent team when they finally retired. I did not remember the team name, thank you for that. The Oreca guy looked unhappy IIRC but he outlasted all the factory cars so his engineering life was not over. The Peugeot guy looked like every dog he ever owned was shot in front of him on international TV.

That is him. It only took me a sec to find this pic. This is the exact scene I was describing. God I felt bad for him.
That is de Chaunac on the left I believe.
Edit: Thanks Richard!!

Definitely not 2007, as it's a V10...

After Fontana IndyCar last week, it shows once again how stupid pack racing is. It seems both IndyCar and NASCAR are happy with pack racing and big crashes, but some day, another Le Mans 1955 will happen, and it'll be very bad.
