Round 6 - Road Atlanta [Apr. 22nd]

Had joined to test the new springs in my pedals on a more realistic environment, but seem to be in the way of many people who are in a hurry to overtake, so I decided to quit it. Happy racing.

Well that's supposed to be a qualifying session.

That was bullshit, got disqualified because i started in the pitlane?? why...that track is a bloody joke. First I get DQ "for driving the wrong way in quali", have to recreate a profile, lose my setup, have to borrow someone elses, then a screwed up formation lap, before waiting a half hour for the lights to go green, and then a further wait as the cars have to be resorted. Once that is all done, upon the start, I begin in the pitlane. When I try to exit the pitlane, it DQs me again, not even a penalty? That's ridiculous, a new track is needed for Road Atlanata I think.

Martin devant moi ne demarre pas , donc je reste coincé derriere lui , je perds 5 places au moins , apres de belles bastons avec Antoine , Edgar et Steve , puis alors que j etais revenu a 1.5 s de Philippe Bousquet , Carl le laisse passé , reste sur l exterieur de la trajectoire du dernier virage et la alors que j arrive a pleine vitesse revient sur l interieur et c est le crash , j explose mon aileron avant , 1 tour entier avant d acceder aux stands 40 s de reparation , encore une chouette bagarre avec Steve mais bon ma voiture ne roulait plus droit , fin de l histoire

Enfin voila l'histoire, j'ai même failli battre Guillaume,mais il avait pris trop d'avance !!

Interesting race from my perspective. After the two botched starts, my normal pre-race jitters went away and I had a good get-away, maintaining my relative position. After I got settled into a rhythm, I noticed someone running in 16th closing on me rapidly (I was running 13th, so I surmised this was someone who had lost a wing and got it repaired) In my attempt to move over and not make an issue out of it, I ran on the grass a la Edmonton and let one of the Quioc brothers through. Thankfully, I did not panic and re-assumed my rhythm. Through attrition, I worked my way up to 11th by three quarters distance -- then my tires really started to go off. Carl was closing on me hand over fist, and I held him off for as long as was physically possible. He finally slipped by, and after Gui retired, I was back up to 11th. If Steve's engine had blown a lap earlier, there would be an American flag on the points chart oh well. Great race, managed to keep my cool throughout. Forward progress in my book. And no lapping incidents

Well, i never drove such a long race with these cars, so it was interesting. I didn't know what to expect, specially because i was having several problems with the car today. Bad brake balance, oversteer, lack of traction in the rear tyres. I managed to improve my time in qualy a lot. The race was ok. I had a long battle with Antoine de Mautor. I disagree with your complain, by the way. You're complaining just because at the end you made a silly mistake trying to take back your position, and yeah, it was YOUR MISTAKE. If you complain for that, i could complain because you tried many risky moves in impossible spots. If i have to complain, then i could say, as well, that ALL the backmarkers put me in dangerous positions today, everytime.

PS. I just saw the replay and i find you're complain even more funny. I overtook you because you gave me room. Then you try to take your position back CUTTING THE TRACK? and did you expect me to see you? absolutely your mistake, my mind is clean here.

Was this the manoeuvre that took place on lap 7?

Did you wait for the green light before exiting the pitlane ?

I didn't realise, I thought it would have been green as everyone had already gone through, my mistake :/

Yeah its something you can never know when it happens the first time. You have to wait at the end of the pitlane at the red light, and when it goes green you can join the race. It usually goes green 25-30s after the race start.

I still don't know why I started in the pits though?
