One of my heroes just died
Like for millions of others around the world he's the reason why I started playing the guitar in the first place. Was lucky to meet him once and shake his hand, although I was something like 6 years old I still remember it like it was yesterday. Quite a character too (eh Keith Richards ?) who lived an interesting life to say the least !

Originally written by John Lee Hooker, performed here by MC5 in 1972. Song is about the 1967 Detroit riots, 50 years ago this year.

One of my favorite (if not most) band is releasing a new album in may, but here is a single to anounce the album, and since it has a car in the video, I find it sutable for posting, even more becose is one of the Cart88 engine manufacturer, so, it can be somehow connected! Enjoy, if you like it...

can't say no to those guys either.
Since I really like 70's rock & roll, but believe I've found everything I like from America and Britain, I've been looking at other scenes lately. Krautrock is nice.

Yeh Krautrock ! I come from a rock n' roll background, and I love most of its various forms, from Chuck Berry to Deerhoof (one of the very few actual bands I really like), and was of course heavily into the 60s/70s stuff when I was younger. Hendrix remains my favourite artist to this day.
But since a few years I almost only listen to Western African music, mostly "Highlife" and "Afrobeat" from Ghana and Nigeria. My new idol is Gasper Lawal :
(this one is called Eronu in fact, not Ajomasé as stated by the one who posted it on youtube).
Also from Ghana are Mack Porter :
and the incredibly soulful Marijata :
or the equally groovy Alhaji K. Frimpong :
In Nigeria of course The Black Emperor is an everlasting source of eargasms :
But I also like the rootsy Monomono for instance :
Finally, from my India trip last year I brought back this beautiful singer and her mesmerising mantras, Nirinjan Kaur :
Most of this stuff I discoreved on the greatest web radio ever : Radiooooo. A most addictive concept : you can select any decade from 1900 to today, and any country of the world that existed in the selected period and listen to the relevant music <3.

I wouldn't say I'm an expert either, the subject is so vast - I only know the big names I reckon ! Took me a while to appreciate it too, for many years many friends tried to hook me on it but I was not soul-ready I guess ! Now I can't get enough of it !

No need to be ashamed, you posted some great ones in there, such as Yepes or Rachmaninoff - hardly the average easy-listening gumbo !
In the rock genre I also enjoy more experimental things such as Dilute, a now disbanded trio from California which was among the best bands to come out of the "math rock" movement. Dilute was based around guitarist/meowing singer Marty Anderson, a true genius in my book. Their album Grape Blueprints Pour Spinach Olive Grape still is one of my favourite albums.

I've really been getting into Earth lately. Drone metal that may be repetitive for some, but sounds really badass to me

Hell yes, Jason!
I really like doom/drone/sludge metal. It's motto "Live Slow, Die Old" does not rhyme well with motor racing, but it's awesome music.

Mood for a Day from the Yes album "Fragile", a song that might appeal to Alberto as it is a beautiful piece of classical guitar :

Indeed a nice piece Frank
Since you guys seem to like obscure groups that do some good music, I can contribute a bit with the local spanish ones, less known outside from here (And latin america). Starting with some heavy metal from the 80s, Baron Rojo (Red Baron) were quite impresive, with well finished songs, fun lyrics with cultural message, and one of the best live performances.
Breakthoven was the first single from their album "En un lugar de la Marcha", which is already a words play with the first sentence from El Quijote (En un lugar de la Mancha). The lyrics talk about a guy who defends that Beethoven would play nowadays heavy metal, and that rock has a cultural message, while everybody thinks he is crazy.
