We have strong gun control in Texas. Here that may mean something different than what you desire. Gun control in Texas means hitting your target.
And yet I am absolutely sure of inexpediency of firearms possession to persons not related to any special services or the police. Takes place, an interesting paradox. When weapons has virtually everyone, its protective potential is transformed into a huge danger of death. Want something to note. At this point in the city where I live(Kamyshin, 200 kilometers North of Volgograd, formerly Stalingrad), own security appreciate not less than 95%. Source of danger serve cars and some highly improbable ridiculous randomness. How much I will appreciate its security after the acquisition by residents of the city of weapons? Not more than 70%! In Volgograd believe percentage of security may fall to 60. A million people with guns is not safe. The danger most often provoked would stupidity and levity people, than aggression! The percentage of street crime is very small and the criminals are normally not have firearms. In Russia crime long ago moved from the streets in administrative buildings(offices of officials)! In Russia, some careless politicians make attempts to put the issue of firearms. However, opinion polls, people categorically deny such initiatives . They understand that the weapon is another factor of tension, not security.
However weapon in the U.S. I think it's not a question of security, the issue of business for which ordinary Americans pay of health and life!
John understands what I'm talking about!

Best way to start an argument is politics and this is a racing site, not a political site. Stow it.

Looks like a 200mph multi million dollar ice scraper to me. Color is so ugly I would have to pass on it.

Would a similar treatment work on a road car? I mean supergluing a dildo on your Ford Cortina?

Ignoring the ...err ...'sex toy' ...the Caterham's nose looks like it will produce more lift than downforce - I know the teams (well, most of them) want to get as much air as possible under the chassis, but this is ridiculous! In any circumstance, it's surely the ugliest F1 car ever produced in my lifetime

I had the same reaction the last time I went at Monaco Historic GP, multiple cars were destroyed, one even managed to flip IIRC...

To be fair, as much as it pains to see these cars ending up the way these have, But if it wasn't for these "Wealthy Idiots" these cars would just be sat in museums, and the younger generation and non Americans would never get to hear what they sound like in the flesh. Plus to historic race you still need some racing licence or other no? And I don't believe they give them out willy nilly. We should also be thankful no one was hurt, as the accident looks a bad one.

Of course you have a point, but in my opinion that's what events like the Goodwood meeting are for. You take the cars out of the museum and put them in the hands of those who know what to do with them, we all enjoy it and then the cars are brought back safely to the museum were we can admire and have a closer look at them.

Speaking of "wealthy idiots", America and "racing", the new points system in NA$CAR. I haven't laughed that much in a long time.
16 drivers in the Chase (every driver having won a race), and eliminations every 3 races. Last race, 4 drivers for the title, winner takes all. e.g. a driver can win the first 35 races and still lose the title

What was wrong with the driver with the most points winning the championship in the first place?

Yeah I guess they had to react in some way to that stupid double points rule in F1 with something even more stupid.

The "idea" was to give more importance to the race wins...
... the best part of it is that with that format, last year's champion would have been Dale Jr, with an incredible total of ZERO wins.
You can always count on NA$CAR to find a stupid idea. (Oh and Sports Cars fans, they are also running the new championship expect yellow flags for invisibris in USCC too !)

It's boring of course I believe the initial "problem" was Kenseth winning the championship with only one win, and by playing it safe in all races.

The direction things are taking in motorports all around is really worrying ... the more seasons go by the more I prefer to bury my head in races of the past found in Youtube Watching CART from the 90s, DTM from the 80s, old Nascar and of course whatever is available from the 70s is so much better than modern F1

Not sure I agree ... motorcycling is OK since they banned the stupid traction control, but I miss the good old 80s and early 90s with the 2 stroke bikes
