We have some gpltv servers running and I suggest 3 things to review:
1.- requirements------------
GPLtvServer needs Winpcap (http://winpcap.polito.it) installed
on your system. It was tested with Winpcap 3.0, newer versions
should work too.
==========> Winpcap must be installed on the server (we have version 3.1)
2.- GPLtvServer.ini on the server[GPL.tv]
; Version 0.2.6
; =============
; --------------------------------------------------
; set this ip if the GPLtvServer runs on a different
; machine than the GPL server or if WinpCap cannot
; determine your ip address.
;GameServerIP=0.0.0.0
==========> not set because gpltvserver is installed on the same machine as gpl
; ------------------------------------------------------
; set the TCP/IP portnumber for GPL.tv (default is 32001)
TvServerPort=32001
; ----------------------------------------------------
; you can set a password for connection to GPLtvServer
TvServerPassword=
; ----------------------------------------------------
; you can restrict the number of clients to connect to
; GPLtvServer (default is 100, maximum is 255).
MaxTvClients=100
; ------------------------------------------------------
; If you run the GPL server with a changed port area you
; can adjust the GPLtvServer here
;GameServerPortBase=32766
==========> not set because gpl server is using default ports
; ------------------------------------------------------
; GPLtvServer can tranmit the chat messages from the
; server. If you do not want this, then disable it here
DisableChat=0
; ------------------------------------------------------
; GPL.tv clients can join the race, that the user is watching.
; You can inhibit this feature here.
AvoidJoin=0
; --------------------------------------------------------
; If you have more than one network card installed in your
; system, GPLtvServer will ask you which one to use. You
; can avoid this by setting this entry to the number you
; would choose manually.
Interface=2
==========> this forces the server to choose ndis 5.0 driver which should be the LAN of the server
; ---------------------------------------------------------
; GPLtvServer would send information to a server that holds
; a list of all running GPLtvServers (similar to the racelist
; in VROC). So it is easy to find your server. Enter here
; the address of the serverlist.
; IMPORTANT: You need to wait for the first driver to join the
; GPL race server before GPLtvServer will appear in this list!
[TvServerList]
Address=gpltv.virtualracing.org
;Port=32002 ; the default port is 32002
3.- review the dns of the server3a.- launch nslookup on the server (Start --> Execute --> type nslookup & intro)
3b.- c:\winnt\system32\NSLOOKUP.exe opens in a window to let you ask for dns,s ---> type gpltv.virtualracing.org and push intro
3c.- nslookup should answer address 80.190.209.206 .... if not you have a dns problem on the server and should ask the administrator of the server
Hope this helps
