Not a surprise there Jukka. The Mini fuel consumption is basically totalaly screwed up by HGTTC (it's not the only thing that mod screwed in fact)..it's something near 80-100L/ 100 kms...Basically the same as the warbird engine during the WWII (engine with basically tenth more time power than the Mini ever got).
For having the chance to ride a real Mini from time to time on real tracks I could assure you the modelisation of that car is not even close to the originial model. In that mod the Mini is just a piece of crap confirmed by every event I attend here. I quote
-too much oversteering. The Mini is a bit yes but not that much
-A wheel ratio more close to the ratio of a US convertible than the near straigth one the Mini has
-A fuel consumption close to those of jet plane.
-A car lacking the elementary nimbless it must has.
-A very spinning car every time you hit a bit harder the brakes. In fact the car acts as it's posses a over powerful torque on brake... never seen anything like this on the real one. It's not even close. The Mini is stable on brakes even if they're a bit weak.
-A top speed totally ridiculous as, with the Mini, I could outrun almost any car I've met at Reims during the CFC last year. For having race with a GTA i can assure you my 1310 one never outrun it in straight.

Conclusion...the more I praticed the HGTTC one the more I realized how bad this mod is on that peticular car. GTL was doing a lot more better in the modelisation.

I always thought the HGTTC Mini seemed to lack that something which made the real car so good back in the day. Nice to hear from someone who knows how a real one goes. I envy you I remember the Reims and how fast it was right before the hairpin

Thanks Jukka; But I haven't anymore the time nor the money to race with the Mini in real world anymore. I've to leave it in Brittany when I moved to Rhone Alpes last year. It's my father and one of my cousin who used it now.

Personnellement, je pense que HGT est plus recommandé, car plus facile à maitriser que WSC 70', et vu que le circuit est long, s'il faut en plus apprendre à manier la voiture....

On va tester ça dès qu'il y aura un serveur. Je dl le circuit.

Si tu prends les Sports 2000 du WSC 1970 ca passe sans trop de problèmes. Les voitures sont assez faciles à envoyer. Par contre c'est clair qu'une 512 ou une 917 là dedans c'est un peu de la folie

J'ai un souvenir des 908 flunder et non flunder, c'est quand même pas simple à piloter par rapport aux caisses hgt.
Après un peut faire vite fait un petit sondage, pour savoir ce qu'on y fait tourner comme mod.

Prends une Cobra ou la seule Ferrari de HGTTC et la Chevron du WSC...y a pas photo...la Chevron est beaucoup plus facile à tenir.
Mais bon je m'en fous je roule quasiment jamais sur les serveurs et j'ai pas vraiment l'intention de rouler sur la Targa non plus (la piste est beaucoup trop longue pour le peu de temps de libre dont je dispose).

J'ai un problème d'affichage avec ce tracé. J'ai essayé avec les mods DRM et Endurance Series et je ne vois pas ma voiture ni dans l'un ni dans l'autre.

I reckon HGT would please more people but I'd be equally happy with WSC '70 as well.

Mouais, je vais essayer de baisser les ombres. Là je suis sur un serveur ODS avec la Targa Florio, j'ai pris l'Escort du mod HGT. Je la vois et c'est sympa pour rouler à vue. Mais je viens de m'arreter au tiers du circuit caisse détruite sur quelque chose d'invisible dans l'herbe au ras de la piste (vi, je coupais un peu).

Mais je ne suis pas persuadé que ce soit une histoire de fps. Je me souviens vaguement d'un problème que j'avais je ne sais plus ou et on m'avait dit de virer la HD ou uin truc du genre ... me souviens pas vraiment. Peu etre que celui qui me l'a dit se rappelle ...

EDIt : après avoir baissé un peu les ombres les détails et le filtre anisotropique je suis entre 60 et 90 fps. Mais il a des triangles noirs par ci par là, parfois sur la piste.

Encore une fois, la caisse qui disparaît, c'est principalement un souci avec les ATI sous XP avec les circuits gourmands. Faut juste baisser les détails. Quant aux murs invisibles, j'en parlerai aux gars du circuit, ils ont fait quelques erreurs.

Loading times:
First time loading the track takes longer then usual. rFactor needs to create a HAT file.
After that loading will be much quicker.
If you are using a multicore system try to add "+fullproc" and/or "+highprio" to destination of your rfactor desktop shortcut.


How to improve performance/FPS:
Start with turning off blurred shadows.
Turning down shadow quality from maximum to high will replace all dynamic shadows with static shadows.
Turning down shadow quality from high to medium will get rid of tree and building shadows (huge fps improvement).
Cars will still cast shadows.

Turning down track details to low will get rid of a large part of the spectators (huge fps improvement).
Dont worry, all the rest will still look as good.


Amount of spectators:
Maximum amount of spectators is only visible in warmup and race session (except at low track details).
On a test day the track is a lot less crowded, like in real life.


Flickering shadows:

-in track cam:
This is a ISI engine issue with large tracks. Nothing can be done about it as far as we know.
For viewing replays we recommend using medium shadow quality, or disabling them.

-in cockpit view:
Adjust clipplanes in vehicle.cam file.
Open cam file with notepad, search for this section and change the marked line:

Also make sure LODMultiplier is set to 1, that will prevent scenery drawn in the distance, where it shouldnt.

Track cam:
rfactor has a limit of 128 cams. (300+ cams are needed for this track but once you go past cam 128 they stop tracking)

No race groove:
The AIW editor provided by ISI was not able to save our aiw with racegroove.
But as Targa Florio was held on public roads, you wouldnt see that much rubber on tarmac as on other permanent race tracks anyway.

I think the Porsche 911 2.0 will be fun here, it is a very noble car with good handling and lots of grip

Vous allez me traiter de petit joueur, mais perso pour m'amuser sur ce tracé sans tout le temps me casser la gueule parce que je vais trop vite sans connaitre, je roule avec une petite Honda ETCC, donc une traction, et je mets l'ABS et surtout un peu l'ESP. Au moins j'arrive toujours à la rattraper et à rouler comme un sauvage tout en restant en piste. (j'ai honte, mais fallait que je le dise car c'est vraiment super sympa).
