OK, I have re-uploaded 0.99 to be sure all files were the correct ones, using those just tested by me and which are confirmed to be working. I have also added minor changes to the rear suspension, which should be almost unnoticeable, as I compared the new suspension graphic I found thanks to Carl and the previous job - and it seems my estimations were almost spot on. cheers

Steve, further testing in Monaco has ocnfirmed that you were right! Apparently reducing engine inertia also lessens engine braking, so I had to rise again the engine brake map value, from your original "2" to "4" (Probably 5 would also be in order)

the French map car and the Andy Warhol car for permission ....

I Know of 9 cars we could add to that field that are already painted so that makes 18 cars ...Wink

Excellent. There were also two cars I would like to see added somewhen, one is the Motul one (Rally car IIRC but a beautiful one and with Gr. 4 specs): https://2img.net/r/ihimizer/img242/3175/1982m1darniche14wp.jpg

and the other the Piquet car from Nurburgring 81: http://files.splinder.com/da97c6467214ff3c3ae7dd76c7919dae_medium.jpg

Thanks for the link Steve bounce

Tiago don't worry, the testing phase is over. Whatever could remain is just a matter iof bug-fixing and polishing minor details, but most of that I can do myself BMW M1 Physics - Page 9 652294

Ive asked Gianluca to give me a hand with tidying up some of the skins ....

As you've all made such a good job of the physics it would be a shame for V2
to be let down by the paint so each skin especially 1979 will need to be retouched ...

Before release i would like to make sure that we have all the Old Skins
painted on the New Template as this goes much better with the New Model
as most of the Old Skins have door and panels lines in the wrong place ....

It may take a bit longer but i think its worth it ...

If anyone else would like to help i can email the
New template .... Wink

All the cars have Dunlop Tyres in 1979
and then Goodyear tryes in 1980
or was this just the works cars ... scratch

Good questions. I looked at it a while ago, and couldn't find any info in all sources I have readed so far. I guess the answer will come from looking at the car pictures, all of them seem to have sponsor logos or even the tyre brand visible in white lettering (Good Year ones specially)

I have been going again through my sources, and it seems that ALL competitors were given the same tyres, provided by BMW. In 1979 they started with Goodyear, in end of 1980 they had Dunlops. When was the transition? Difficult to say. In any case, it seems logical for a competition with the same cars to use the same tyres for all ...

Giancarlo, in the web you linked the pictures of non-official cars show clearly GoodYear logos on them, so it seems to confirm what I knew (If pictures are from that race, that is).

So far only tyres I have seen in the works PROCARs pics are the GoodYears! But I have seen at least a pic of one private team with Dunlops in 1980, so it might be possible that along that year private teams were allowed to use them?

About Gr. 5: The mod was about PROCARs, i.e. Gr. 5 M1s, but the main issue is that we would need a new 3D model. Also, lots of work to paint more cars, etc.

Don't keep your hopes too high, though. Extracting the sounds from a video is one thing, and making them sound in the game as good as they are in videos and real life is a very different thing. But the first step is already done in the right direction BMW M1 Physics - Page 9 652294

Been the whole weekend out of town (It's a celebration day today here in spain) and just came back and fired up the computer. What a Face

I have most of the sound samples I need, what is giving me more problems is doing the proper mix with them. That's where it becomes clear that I'm no sound guy at all, I guess, but I will keep trying. I'l also later upload the sound samples and give you guys a link in case anyone wants to give them a try (Or have his MS Windows startup sound replaced by the M1 engine start LOL)
